New York Map Horn
This is an exceptionally scrimshawed horn. Horns are judged by the quality and design of construction, size, and artistic ability of the scrimshaw. Those familiar with upstate New York during the Revolutionary War era will instantly recognize most of the locations. They’re to numerous to mention but I believe they show beautifully in the pics. Other pics are available also. The horn measures 12” around the curve, 8” to the carved neck and 9” in circumference at the base.

Replica Revolutionary War Powder Horn
This is a very large left hand carry horn measuring slightly over 15” around the curve, 11” to the engrailing, and 8” in circumference at the widest part. The pine base is held in by 8 wooden pins and includes an iron staple for the strap. The scrimshaw reads “I Powder With My Brother Ball, Hero Like Doth Concuer All”; “Success To America”; and His Horn Made At Winfer Hill, Dec 12, 1975”. A beautiful horn at home in the field or as a companion to your flintlock rifle. Woven cotton strap included.
