Lancaster County Flintlock
This classic golden age fullstock flintlock rifle is made in the style of Lancaster County. Stocked in curly maple with beautiful tiger stripping throughout, it's trimmed in brass furniture with simple hand engraving, delicate wire inlay, and beautiful raised carvings. The rifle is unfired but the frizzen does show a few scratches from testing. The rifle has a swamped 42", 54 caliber browned barrel. The patchbox is handmade with six piecings. The patchbox lid closes securly with thumb pressure. Visible in the images is the raised rib carving forward of the lock panel. The buttplate comb has five octagonal flats to echo the octagon theme of the barrel. The triggerguard is correctly mounted with two pins. Ignition is provided by a Siler lock browned to match the barrel. The scalloping behind the lock is repeated behind the sideplate on the opposite side of the gun. An exquisite piece of workmanship, you'll be proud to shoot and display this museum quality flintlock. $2650
